Toll-ro Information

For the payment of TollRo and for the use of the SETRE Romania domain, users may enter into electronic road tolling service agreements with a SETRo provider, purchase route tickets, or use the mobile application.

The toll applicable within the SETRE Romania domain (TollRo) applies to freight transport vehicles with a maximum permissible gross mass (MPW) exceeding 3.5 tonnes, depending on the road category (motorways and expressways / national roads) and on the vehicle’s pollutant emission class (EURO).

The route ticket is an electronic record registered in the database of the Romanian Electronic Road Tolling System (STRR). It certifies payment of the TollRo fee for a vehicle, corresponding to a single passage along a predefined route, within a specified period of time.

The route ticket must be paid for in advance, before making a journey within the SETRE Romania domain, no more than 72 hours before the date and time of the start of the journey, as specified by the applicant.

The route ticket grants the right to a single passage of the vehicle/vehicle combination along the route consisting of the origin point – intermediate points – destination point.

The route ticket is valid for a period of 72 hours from the date and time of the start of the journey, as specified by the applicant.

Upon expiry of the 72-hour period, the route ticket becomes invalid, regardless of whether the route has been completed in full or only partially.

User Obligations When Issuing a Route Ticket

· Correctly and completely declaring the vehicle data in accordance with the registration certificate.

· Strictly observing the declared route and time interval.

The route ticket is issued at CNAIR points of operation, through the portal portal.etoll.ro and the TollRO mobile application.

The CNAIR mobile application, developed for mobile phone operating systems, uses the satellite positioning function of these devices to collect, transfer and record in the STRR database information regarding the distance travelled within the SETRE Romania domain by a specific vehicle, for the calculation and collection of the TollRo fee.

The devices must run an operating system version that supports the technical specifications of the mobile application.

The mobile application may be used by Romanian and foreign users for the payment of TollRo and may be downloaded, installed and used free of charge from the CNAIR SA web portal or from the Google Play and App Store applications.

For the calculation and payment of TollRo through the mobile application, the STRR identifies the sections of the SETRE domain used and the chargeable distance travelled on them based on the data collected and transmit
